I was just 12 years old... ...when my mom first introduced me to sewing.
I now have over 35 years of experience.
Professionally, I started my
sewing career designing and producing my own line of clothing at fine-juried
artisan shows all over the United States. Realizing
I wanted to travel less my next focus became bridal alterations. That’s when I
became the bridal seamstress for Fiori Bridal, a full service bridal salon in
Essex Junction, Vermont, where I worked until my move to the Mandarin area of
Jacksonville Florida, in 2009. Because of my experience in the Full Service Bridal Salon business I understand how much time, money, and emotion goes into choosing just the right gown for that very special day! Naturally, the next step is making this gown your own and QUALITY alterations are important! Often the importance of your seamstress is overlooked; your bridal seamstress is a crucial link to making you look and feel your best on your wedding day! When you have invested so much time and money in shopping for the perfect gown it makes sense to find the bridal seamstress needed to make your perfect gown FIT perfectly! You get what you pay for. Bargain shopping for a seamstress may limit your gown from being the perfect gown. After all, it’s just a dress until it fits you perfectly! Again because of my experience in the Full Service Bridal Salon business I am accustomed to treating my brides in that manor, I wouldn't have it any other way! I believe you should have trust in the skills of your seamstress from the first time we meet! I CARE about how my brides look and I want them to be as beautiful as they can be on their wedding day. I see my brides as representatives of my skills; if you don’t look good I don’t look good! I am dedicated to making your gown fitting appointments a pleasant and stress free experience. When you leave your appointments with me, you will feel confident in your decisions you have made in your gown and with me. This is why at our first fitting I schedule you for 1 hour of my
undivided attention. During this time I will listen to your concerns about your
gown and what it is you would like to change.
I will also share with you my thoughts, based on my experience, on what
we can do to enhance the appearance of you in your gown.
We will discuss the different options in bustles; I will show
you as many
options in your bustle as I can think of, so you can be armed with the best
information available to you so you can make the most informed decision
possible. I am a perfectionist who
strives for excellence in my work. My work is prompt and thorough,
preferring to work with a limited number of brides at a time, allowing me to
focus my attention on the special few, not the masses (a much more intimate
setting). Because of this I can often complete the alterations in 1 to 2
weeks. I LOVE what I do and strive
to make what can be a stressful time in a brides life as enjoyable and stress
free as possible! I am truly
blessed to work with the best clients and consider them all to be friends! Located less than 2 miles from exit 335 off Interstate 95 and just over 3 miles from the Old St. Augustine exit #3 of 295. “Experience,
